Cornerstone Farm is a boarding, lesson, training and sale barn
located in Mocksville, NC. We specialize in a Family atmosphere, with emphasis
on Eventing, Dressage and the Basic Balanced Position for all types of riders.
Pony Clubbers welcome! New Eventers welcome, too!
-
Boarding: We are located on 45 acres on Hwy.
158, between Mocksville and Advance, about 15 easy minutes from
Winston-Salem. You can follow the signs for
Raylen Vineyard off of I 40, we are across the street! The
facility includes 22 stalls, washstall with hot/cold water, bathroom, three
tack rooms, three pastures up to 20 acres and 6 smaller turnout areas. There is a 100/200 lighted sand arena and 20/60
meter sand dressage arena, both with bleachers.
-
The farm is within five miles of two great
veterinary facilities, Greystone
Vet Clinic and Davie County
Large Animal Hospital.
-
We have 2 experienced farriers, David Kennedy and Mike Vaughn.
They come to the farm every week
and are fantastic about coming to replace shoes and for any emergency.
Boarders are welcome to use any vet and farrier they chose.
-
I personally check the barn for a late night
check and feed hay.

Horses are treated as individuals at
Cornerstone Farm. Their likes and dislikes regarding
Turnout: day, night, with the cute little
pony, Stall neighbors: mare, gelding,
cute little pony, Feed: sweetfeed,
pellets, Equine Senior, are carefully considered.
-
Turnout
is provided according to the needs of the horse. Generally, horses are out
all day or night. Careful management is given when the spring grass comes
in, because we have lots of lush pastures! Horses are out in compatible
groups of 3-5. Limited private turnout is available for $50 month
extra. Turnout blankets are maintained in winter.
-
Feed
is Reliance, Purina Equine Senior and Reliance 12 pellets and Beet Pulp.
This meets most horses needs. Other options considered. Supplement and
medicines you provide are fed faithfully! Salt blocks are provided in each
pasture. Horses fed grain twice daily and hayed as needed, with a
late night feeding and barn check.
-
Full board
is $425 month. Boarders who take at least 4 lessons a month have a $50
discount for each month at a rate of $375 plus the lessons. Due to the
rising cost of feed, beginning April 2007, we will no longer clean stalls on
Sundays. This saves a nice bit of $$ and enables us to avoid a rate
increase. Boarders may clean their owns stalls that day if they wish. Rest
assured, our stalls are kept to a high standard so one day is not so bad!
-
Limited pasture
board is $225. Horses are fed daily and hayed as needed. A
turnout shed is provided and the number of horses is strictly limited to
insure that each horse has access to shelter! I am very strict about this,
no large numbers will be crammed into too small a space! Turnout blankets maintained at no extra
charge. A spare stall is kept for emergencies.
